Protecting wildlife during the winter
Updated: Jul 3, 2019
A very happy new year to you all and we hope you had a restful break over Christmas. As they say, "new year, new you", and in keeping with this, Olive Tree Gardens is proud to launch it's new blog! We'll be giving you regular updates on all things green, so make sure you subscribe to our feed!
To kick off the year, we want to bring the attention to our furry and feathered friends, as winter can be a tough time for animals in the garden, and we want to ensure the little critters have enough food and water in these cold, dark months. The Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) provides some excellent tips on how to care for birds, including how to make bird feeders and what to put in them. They also give some great advice on how to look after hedgehogs, frogs, and toads.
You can read their article on helping care for wildlife through winter - https://www.rhs.org.uk/advice/profile?PID=382 - or watch the video below for a summary of the tips.
Let's all do our bit to help our precious wildlife thrive.
Thanks for reading, and please pop back soon!
